Sand Garden, St Albans

2024

A small walled dry garden in the heart of St Albans. The garden/house is raised and overlooks a 18th century Brickie. Planted into 10cm of sharp sand the planting is drought tolerant and resilient to the wet winters.

The planting is 50% grasses, interspersed with successional informal perennial planting and a shrub layer provides structure. The garden will be allowed to self seed to crate a close nit planting community, with a bulb layer to be added.
